In addition to Michael’s passion for design and fashion, he strives to lead by example in producing unmatched quality combining Old World craftsmanship with the most modern production techniques. This commitment to quality and innovation is the cornerstone to his ability to create intricate designs rich with hidden extras and features that cater to the needs and desires of the customer. Intricately carved headboards, velvet lined-drawers, unique lighting features, and generously proportioned seating are just a sampling of the attention to detail found throughout each collection. Michael believes that furniture should not only bring a beautiful and sophisticated aesthetic into the home, but provide functionality to meet the ever-changing needs of the consumer.
AICO’s product lines now include complete case goods collections, high-fashion upholstery, a stunning line of top-of-bed fashions, an extension line of accent pieces, and a commercial and contract division called AICO Office Systems. More recently, Michael was joined in early 2010 by world-renowned actress and artist Jane Seymour to launch a new design division for AICO. This new division has been enormously successful with four complete collections currently in production under the brand name Michael Amini and Jane Seymour, A Design Collaboration.
The imagination and foresight of Michael Amini has lead the company since 1988, and will continue its growth and expansion by setting new trends and creating living environments that transcend expectations.
American Leather A history of innovation
American Leather was founded in 1990 on one revolutionary idea: custom leather furniture could be made and shipped in three weeks or less. Founder/CEO Bob Duncan applied “just-in-time” manufacturing he admired from the Japanese car industry to the furniture industry. From a small four person shop, the company has grown into a thriving leader in the furniture industry, with over 130 different collections sold in over 650 stores, including Room and Board, Crate and Barrel, Macy’s and Design Within Reach.
The factory, based just outside of Dallas, Texas, still makes furniture – now in leather and fabric – in just three weeks or less, a delivery standard that’s three times faster than the industry average. From the beginning, the factory was set up to manage mass customization through the latest technology and manufacturing systems, making American Leather the most automated leather furniture manufacturer in North America, if not the world.
Our Mission
Three months is too long to ever wait for a piece of customized furniture. Thirty days seems about right. In that amount of time, our 21st century furniture factory in Dallas, Texas can take your order from concept to completion. Our innovative technology blends with expert craftsmanship to create the highest quality furniture available. It’s not only durable; it’s also beautiful. Renowned award-winning designers and inventors collaborate with our in-house team to dream up artful designs, many of which have won some of the furniture industry’s highest accolades. Other pieces may not win fancy fashion awards but they’ll win your heart for versatility and comfort. Or you might fall in love with our unique technologies. Products we invented, like the Comfort Recliner™, the Comfort Sleeper™, and our Comfort Theatre™ Collections take furniture to new levels of comfort. No matter which product you desire, we’ll make it according to your specifications and get it you fast – in 30 days or less.
Green Initiatives
American Leather is a founding member of the Sustainable Furniture Council, a non-profit organization created to promote sustainable practices in the furniture industry. Here are other key ways in which we work everyday to make our products and factory more environmentally friendly.
Our frames are made of wood harvested from sustainable forests and all scrap wood is recycled.
All leather uses water based pigments, and we offer 25 environmentally-friendly, biodegradeable leathers made through natural, chrome-free processes. Leather scrap is recycled and re-sold for the production of smaller leather goods.
Many styles utilize foam made from BiOH polyols, a soy-based, environmentally-friendly ingredient.
Our factory conserves energy with automatic light shut-offs and we encourage employees to recycle.
Manufactured in Dallas, Texas, our central U.S. location yields a smaller carbon footprint than imported goods.
Hospitality and Contract
American Leather is uniquely suited for contract and hospitality orders. Our factory is designed specifically for mass customization using state of the art technology combined with individual craftsmanship. As a result we offer an incomparable combination of high quality furniture and speed, even on our popular and proprietary Comfort Sleeper™. Made for extraordinary sitting and sleeping comfort, our sleeper can be found in many of the top hotels around the country including Affinia Hotels, The Denihan Hospitality Group, Omni Hotels, and in a major theme park in Orlando, Florida.
Regardless of the size of your order we can process, build and ship our products quickly - within four weeks for leather, Ultrasuede®, or our stocking fabrics. COM is available within six weeks of receipt of fabric
The A.R.T. of authentic design ART Home Furnishings
Art Home Furnishings commitment to quality begins at the drawing board—each piece of furniture we build must meet the highest standards of beauty, function, and durability. We get the details right: traditional English dovetailed corners, ventilation and wire management for electronics, cedar lining in lower dresser drawers, a smooth UV finish inside the other drawers to prevent snags. Because we love what we do.
Like art itself, A.R.T. Furniture is inspired by personal taste and preferences. Art Home Furnishings understand that there is no greater opportunity for personal expression than your home. Our catalog is your palette: with our extraordinary breadth of design choices and our depth of fabrics, finishes, and artisanal details you can create a home that is uniquely your own.
A.R.T. Furniture collections are inspired by different cultures, lifestyles, and neighborhoods, by people and their stories. We bring together authentic design, artisanal finishes, and creative fabric combinations so you can write the story of your home.
Using a UV finishing process on our drawer interiors provides the smoothest and most durable finish available from any manufactures. This ensures snag-free storage for even the most delicate hosiery and lingerie.
Sophisticated wire management and ventilation solutions are engineered into every A.R.T. piece with media function to aid in ease of set up and to ensure the longest possible life for electronic components.
Aromatic red cedar lining lines the bottom drawers of our bedroom storage product.
Jewelry trays and silverware liners in key bedroom and dining pieces provide for the safe keeping of valuables.
English dovetailing has been the standard of quality and fine craftsmanship in drawer construction for over three centuries. All ART Home Furnishings collections feature English dovetailing throughout, unless prohibited due to the curve of the drawer.
Dust proofing is used on all cases with wood on wood guides to prevent dust and debris from soiling clothes and linens.
ART Home Furnishings proudly introduces COLLECTION ONE – a new casual offering of finely crafted case goods, occasional and upholstery inspired by antiques from Provincial Canada and American architecture. A collection that is classic in style, rich in scale, abundant in detail and unique in appearance.
Crafted only from radiata pine, a clean and clear wood that is harvested from the northern regions of Asia. This specie is a cabinet maker’s choice that enhances the fine wood details found throughout the collection. More importantly, it showcases the variety of finishes that were developed specifically for COLLECTION ONE. Finishes that range from the soft looks of ageless antiques, rich in patina, to those full of texture and depth - all hand applied, hand rubbed and executed with care.
Art Home Furnishings COLLECTION ONE is also about choice. Several styles work well together through design and finish. The ability to mix or match is evident and offers the consumer variety in today’s home décor. All of COLLECTION ONE seating has been designed to complement the whole home environment. Pieces are shown with the newest fabrics, rich in tailoring and detail, and most importantly, comfortable to sit in!
COLLECTION ONE - one world of opportunity
Bernhardt History
This year marks the 125th anniversary of Bernhardt Furniture. For us, this milestone is not only a time to celebrate, but also a time to reaffirm the values that have enabled the company to endure. Foremost among those values: creating quality furniture… and a deep commitment to people and relationships.
Unique by today’s standards, remains a family-owned business that is dedicated to the welfare of the community that’s been its home since 1889.
The company’s history, spanning those 125 years, is a story of pioneer spirit, of opportunities recognized and realized in spite of obstacles.
John Mathias Bernhardt, founder
America was beginning to take shape in 1860 when the Bernhardt family moved to the western North Carolina town of Lenoir. John Mathias Bernhardt's rural lifestyle became even more challenging at age 13 when both of his parents died within 60 days of each other. Left to face life as orphans, John and his older brother, Lynn, eventually went to work at a local general store. But unlike his brother, who stayed in the retail trade, John was destined for adventures out west in territory that became the state of Oregon. He secured a job as a government surveyor assisting settlers in the wild frontier, a post that nearly claimed his life. Had it not been for an Indian guide who saved him from a winter bout of pneumonia, J.M . Bernhardt and Bernhardt Furniture Company would not be known to us today.
As it was, he survived this and other frontier ordeals and returned to Lenoir after three years to begin an enterprise that would become one of the country's leading manufacturers of residential and commercial furniture.
He was a man with imagination and drive. His legacy includes not only a thriving family enterprise, but also a heritage of perseverance and social responsibility.

Chaddock Furniture
When inspiration strikes one of our designers, a quick sketch is the only thing needed to capture the idea and set the gears in motion. Mere hours later, thanks to a computerized drafting program, a rough sketch of a new chair has been converted into a detailed drawing. Then it goes to our new router and a prototype is precision-cut within days. A short time ago, without the benefit of these advanced technologies, this process would have taken many, many weeks.
There's no denying the beauty of Old World craftsmanship, and our state-of-the-art manufacturing center in North Carolina has always relied on master craftsmen who use woodworking skills and finishing techniques passed down for generations. They start with the finest raw materials, including glorious hardwoods like oak and walnut, and in their capable hands a piece of furniture is transformed into an heirloom to be cherished forever. Beautiful patinas and decorative finishes; exquisite textiles milled in Europe and America; hardware cast, poured and forged by hand - these are the elements that have set Chaddock apart since 1946. Now we also have new technologies that allow us to produce designs of far superior construction, and in a much more timely manner, without compromising the aesthetics. Our recent acquisition of some highly sophisticated machinery permits us to create not only efficiencies in production but also a superior product impossible to achieve any other way.
Chaddock has the advantage of unique routers that cut, carve and machine wood to precise standards comparable to those of the most elite German automobile manufacturers. They also facilitate the diversity of cutting, shaping and mortising joints in ways that handheld equipment cannot. Our new computerized flat-belt sanding system delivers to our finishing room material that equals anything prepared in the most exacting European shops. In addition to shortening the lead times for every element of the product development phase, this equipment makes highly specific customization possible, including short-run productions and even one-of-a-kind pieces. The result of all our experience and expertise is design rich in character, construction unrivaled in its precision and the rare ability to make our customers' dreams come true.

Francesco Molon
In the small town of Romano d'Ezzelino, near Venice, Italy, over a hundred artisans work daily to create individual furniture pieces that are veritable works of art. The finished pieces, whether beautifully inlaid writing desks or meticulously carved secretaries, travel the world over to rest in the elegant hotels and luxurious palaces of exotic places like the Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok, the Four Seasons Hotel in Berlin, the Breaker’s Hotel in Palm Beach, and the St.Regis in Rome. The fine Italian craftsmen are part of a family-owned business dedicated to the revival of furniture artistry in classical European style.
Started in 1966 by Francesco Molon and a handful of highly skilled artisans, He has succeeded in capturing the rich tradition of ancient techniques and furniture mastery for presentation in today’s marketplace. Now run by both Francesco Molon and his sons, the company remains committed to the timeless fine design and functionality that enables furniture to be passed through generations.
Francesco Molon searches throughout the world for the highest-grade materials, superb veneers, refined burls, exotic rosewoods and ebony. Highly skilled in painting, marquetry and the meticulous applications of gold leaf, artisans replicate age-old techniques to create near signature pieces preferred by high-end designers world wide. Thanks to its growth in the international marketplace, has concentrated its commercial efforts in the opening of branches in the USA, Mexico, Russia, United Arab Emirates Saudi Arabia and Israel. Moreover, its first American retail operation was recently opened near Naples, Florida at the International Design Center.
The company’s craftsmen work in the Italian production centre, which is a neo-classical facility personally designed by Francesco Molon. A portion of the facility – and the workforce – is devoted to the arts of colour, carving, inlay, painting, and the details of gold leaf. Francesco Molon focuses on the particular nuances that set fine furniture apart from the ordinary. Artisans use only watercolours made in-house. They are applied by hand, in many layers for perfect results. This Raphael-like glazing technique results in a “softness”, adding character and subtlety to a stunning armoire or period reproduction bow front chest.
With so much emphasis on artistic expression and detailing, it’s hard to imagine that Francesco Molon would give equal attention to functionality. With a savvy technical department and top notch designers, all plans and details are carefully studied and their feasibility is meticulously controlled. Francesco Molon facilitates the relationship between technology, design, and artistry to produce state-of-the-art pieces that perform in the home from both high design and functional perspectives.
For over thirty years, Francesco Molon has been building an internationally recognized reputation as a premier manufacturer of fine furniture. In the tradition of classic collections, from Louis XVI to the provocative nuances of Art Deco, Francesco Molon will continue to offer its distinguished line of masterpieces furniture to discerning patrons throughout the world.

Furniture as art
Furniture is a custom crafted furniture manufacturer with over 30 years of experience. Since 1981, Johnston Casuals has produced furniture that is not only beautiful, but made to last. From hand-grinding and hand-applied finishes to automated powder coating and robotic assembly, their Wilkesboro, NC plant combines state-of-the-art technology with the work of hundreds of skilled artisans. They are primarily known of their ultra-chic contemporary designs but they also offer many products with more of a transitional design, which works perfectly with most home interiors.
JONATHAN CHARLES
Jonathan Charles Fine Furniture is the vision of Jonathan Sowter, an English furniture designer who excels at the art of fine antique reproduction. We design and manufacture the highest-quality European antique replicas as well as our own unique transitional designs, which are distributed to the best shops and interior designers throughout North America, U.K., Spain, Italy, and France, just to name a few.
What makes us different is our meticulous attention-to-detail and pursuit of high-quality construction. This has propelled our company growth from just ten employees in April 2004 to over 1,398 in December 2011. Our passion for detail is also reflected in our in-house brass foundry, in which we manufacture our own hardware so that when we design a new piece of furniture we can also design one-of-a-kind pulls, hinges, locks and even keys for that piece.
It is our aim to constantly expand into new markets, while continuing to be a brand synonymous with the finer things in life.
We are craftsmen
Jonathan Charles works with artisans who display a large range of skills. We take pride in our work, which is evident in our beautifully-crafted antique replicas. We go far beyond just creating furniture that resembles English classics. We employ age-old techniques, which breathe soul and lasting-quality into our products.
We are designers
Many of our inspirations come from original antiques that Jonathan discovers in his travels. Sometimes, we will reproduce them as accurately as possible, while at other times we will take a detail that we like and design a completely new piece of furniture around that feature.
Oftentimes, we will start the design process from scratch. We gather inspiration from a variety of sources – be it a classic wallpaper design, nature, classic antiques, a rare object, or jewelry.
We never design to the limitations of our factory, and have actually expanded our factory as we have developed new skills in advanced marquetry, bronze casting, hand carving and much more. We stand for quality
We never compromise on design and would be foolish to compromise on quality. Only the finest materials are used in our furniture. We also employ inspectors that ensure technically-sound components and design throughout the process. These experts oversee production, checking in at key transaction points so that nothing is overlooked. Before an item is packaged, it is reviewed with a keen eye and must pass a comprehensive checklist by our quality control inspector.

LILLIAN AUGUST
The 1980's
In the early 1980s, Lillian August, a talented interior designer and busy mother of three, launched a business selling crafts and patchwork quilts. She showed her line at New York’s annual bed and bath industry show, piquing the interest of Imperial Wallcoverings, which hired her to design a wallpaper line with an American Country look.
"It was a huge hit, and the first of Lillian’s many entrepreneurial ventures, which have included numerous fabric and furniture lines for companies like Drexel Heritage and Hickory White."
After moving to New York in 1985 to build on her successful home textiles and wall coverings business, Lillian August began a search for her first retail location. Lillian’s sons Dan and John Weiss were so inspired by their mother’s early success and abilities that they pursued the idea of starting a home furnishings, accessories, and textile retail store. Together, they opened their first storefront in Westport, Connecticut, in 1987 as a family venture.
The 1990's
Since then, under the retail leadership of Dan & John Weiss, Lillian August has developed a global reputation as a trend setting resource for designers, homeowners and design enthusiasts. With a broad and eclectic collection of furniture, rugs, antiques and accessories, Lillian August now provides clients with inspiration and design services in many locations—the Norwalk Design Center and headquarters, South Norwalk Outlet, Greenwich and New York City stores.
Operating in the tradition of European design families, the brothers take pride in creating distinctive furnishings and discovering unique sources and one-of-a-kind pieces from all over the world.
“We all did a bit of everything,” says Lillian, recalling her early years in retail. Lillian’s son Michael also joined for several years, and helped design the company’s first signature furniture collection.
The 2000's
In 2003, Lillian August opened their 100,000 sq ft. flagship design center in Norwalk. The store features hundreds of brands, as well as The Lillian August Signature Collection. In October 2008, Lillian introduced a new collection for Hickory White, which debuted in her Connecticut stores at the end of that year and at select dealers throughout the United States in early 2009.
“Our collection with Hickory White allowed us to spread our wings into new and exciting looks,” says Lillian. “By collaborating with my sons and our talented design team, we have been able for the first time to replicate our fabulous Connecticut showrooms for dealers throughout the world.”
Today
Today, Lillian August boasts four retail locations and numerous signature furniture, textile and accessories collections. The family's home furnishings business has grown thanks to the vision of Lillian, who oversees the design of all licensed collections, and as a result of the entrepreneurial spirit of her sons, Dan and John Weiss, who continue to develop the Lillian August brand by offering an unprecedented selection of quality products from around the world, along with top-notch design services and an unparalleled customer experience.

About Maitland-Smith
For 30 years Maitland Smith has been in the business of creating exquisite and unique decorative accessories, lighting and accent furniture. Our design roots, however, go much deeper. Antiques from 17th and 18th Century England have always played an important role early in our history; inspiring designs that captured the appearance and quality of the originals. Over time, however, we have found that our designs have evolved and today incorporate style, materials and methods found in many other parts of the world.
Today Maitland Smith is an industry leader well known for its world-class quality and innovative design. Our areas of expertise include metal casting, finely executed porcelains, sophisticated finishing techniques, detailed hand painting, beautiful inlaid marquetry and the finest hand carved woodwork. Leather, penshell and eggshell are just a few of the multitude of materials that are used to create Maitland Smith treasures. At Maitland Smith, we take great pride in the quality of our materials and the highly skilled artisans who fashion these unique pieces each year in our company-owned workshops. Our main office and showroom are located in High Point, North Carolina, where our design, marketing, sales and administrative staff are located.

Heritage Matters
In 1947, California-based interior designer Marjorie Reese Carson found herself in a quandary. Brimming with creative ideas for her clients' posh homes, nobody made the caliber of furniture she needed to bring her designs to life. Unwilling to compromise, and being an entrepreneur at heart, she took matters into her own hands. In this post-war environment she hired two upholsterers and converted an old chicken coop into a custom upholstery shop. This bold move ultimately resulted in the creation of her own furniture lines and decorative upholstery to fill a frustrating void in the residential furniture marketplace.
Marjorie's relentless commitment to creating fresh, creative and stylish furniture with high-quality craftsmanship quickly earned her the reputation as the proven, exclusive source for creatively fashionable and comfortable upholstery and case goods for fine homes.
By 1953, improved production facilities were established in Rosemead, California, a suburb of Los Angeles, where the offices and factory operated till 2012 when Marge Carson relocated to Pomona, CA. Today Marge Carson, Inc. is privately owned and operated by the LaBarge family, a name known and respected throughout the furniture world for several generations.
Even in the whirlwind of constantly evolving fashions and lifestyles, Marge Carson, Inc. remains true to Marjorie's founding premise: introducing to the marketplace beautiful designs with impeccable quality, terrific shape and scale and perfectly tailored applications of phenomenal fabrics, trims, finishes and accents.
Today, Marge Carson upholstery, case goods, occasional and accent furniture is available globally in fine furniture retailers and interior design centers.
MASSOUD FURNITURE
Made Here, Sold Here, Enjoyed Here
We’re American-made. In an era of off-shoring, all our pieces are still created right here in the U.S.A. and the result is a quality difference you sense immediately. From the kiln-dried hardwood frames to the finest leathers and fabrics to the meticulous craftsmanship, our furniture is solid. Durable. Made to last generations.
What’s more, we purchase all our materials from domestic sources; the wood, fabric, springs, foam, nails all originate in America. That means we don’t wait for these items to be shipped from abroad, so we can deliver custom orders in a remarkable 30 to 35 days. It also means that the price of a Massoud piece puts money in the pockets of American workers all around the country.
The Massoud Difference
We’re not the usual furniture manufacturer. In fact, you might say that’s our defining characteristic. We’re different. Surprising. That’s the main thing “about us.” So what’s the difference?
Store front
Nobody Runs Our
Business but Us
We’re family-owned-and-operated. Not many of our competitors can say that. And the personal attention that a family gives its own business has made a real difference. 50 years of excellence have proven that again and again. Stitching machine
But even a family’s dedication isn’t enough. Skill is needed, too. Fortunately C. E. Massoud had a strong business background, plus a business education at S.M.U. Chuck Massoud has a business degree, also from S.M.U., as well as the experience he gained working in real estate and banking after graduation. So when he joined his father, he brought a wealth of assets along with him, including a lifetime growing up in the business itself.
Celebrating fifty years
People Depend on Us, Because They Know They Can
Ask almost anyone who’s done business with us what word comes to mind when you mention the name Massoud, and the response is likely to be “integrity.”
Integrity
We remain firmly committed to the ethical standards that have set us apart for half a century. That means reliable customer service, responsible business practices, and honest values. Massoud is a name you can trust. Yes, others make similar claims. So we invite you to put ours to the test. You’ll see. At Massoud, we deliver. And that’s the real difference.

Whittemore Sherrill
Since 1946, Sherrill has been selecting only the finest in home furnishing materials and bringing them to life by hand-crafting each piece using techniques passed down from generations of skilled North Carolina artisans. Whittemore-Sherrill LTD carries on this tradition by selecting only the finest leather hides from around the world, blending them with American-made, eight-way hand-tied frames and painstakingly building and tailoring every one to your exact specifications in our North Carolina facility. The result is unparalleled custom-made leather upholstery designed and built to fit your life.
At Whittemore Sherrill Limited, every piece is handcrafted by a team of skilled technicians who have spent years perfecting their trade. As many as 70 experienced hands help create each piece ensuring that it is enjoyed for generations. Our commitment to quality is what has made the Whittemore-Sherrill brand so respected for over three decades.
Quality Construction using the Finest Components
Take a good look at the quality that's built into every piece of Whittemore-Sherrill Limited furniture. Roll your cursor over sections of this chair to reveal the craftsmanship at every level.
Frame Construction
Whittemore-Sherrill blends traditional hand craftsmanship with modern manufacturing methods to produce frames that are among the finest used in the upholstery business. Each frame is precisely cut and hand assembled using kilned dried lumber. Double dowels are utilized in all structural parts to form sturdy, long lasting joints. To complete construction and add stability to the frame, large precisely cut corner blocks are positioned at each corner where the greatest stress occurs using both glues and screws.
Eight-way Hand-tied Spring System
The eight-way hand-tied system and full web bottom is characteristic of high quality furniture and is traditionally the best known technique for insuring long lasting comfort. Whittemore Sherrill mounts a solid interlace web bottom of each frame. Springs of various gauges and heights are securely attached to the full web bottom using clinch fasteners. The individual spring coils are hand-tied and bound together in eight separate directions using polyester cording. The cording is then securely anchored to the frame. A typical lawson style back has sinuous wire springs anchored to the frame and held together horizontally by coated wire to prevent turning.
Filling Material
On most styles the standard filling material is urethane foam combined with polyester fibers and cotton felt. Marshall units are used when thickness of back and styling permits. Generous layers of polyester batting and cotton are used in conjunction with urethane foam to achieve just the right contour and comfort. Outside arms and backs are padded to assure a smoother surface and provide an extra measure of neatness.
Upholstery
Each piece of Whittemore Sherrill upholstery is hand crafted by a team of skilled technicians who have spent years perfecting their trade. A marker has the important task of laying out the pattern pieces for a particular style, paying close attention to the varying textures and distinctive features which are unique to each genuine leather hide. Each piece is cut, assembled by hand and sewn to assure that each style will exceed Whittemore-Sherrill’s stringent tailoring standards. Specialized upholsters and trimmers complete the process by painstakingly hand tailoring each piece to exacting standards. Depending on design, tailoring details may include hand tufting, pleating or individually applying nail head trim.
Who is Wildwood?
The Standard of Excellence in decorative lighting. A unique collection reflecting the talents of Far Eastern and European artisans combined with the creative efforts of American craftsmen. Authentic, time honored designs reproduced with meticulous attention to detail and color in the old world manner. Striking traditional and transitional creations blending techniques and materials of the past to meet the dictates of today's designs. These lamps grace the homes of those who demand unerring quality and consummate good taste.
Constantly seeking artware of uncommon beauty and distinction, Wildwood designers travel the world over to find glorious Kutani Porcelains from Japan, elegant lead crystals from Germany and Florentine tole ware from Italy. But each lamp is still individually inspired and created by hand. With great care the lamps are richly embellished with hand finished mountings, handsome hardware accents and a wide repertoire of shade treatments to complement form and function. A Wildwood lamp truly yields the promise of beauty to be cherished for years to come.
History of Wildwood
It was 1900. Mr. W.A. Bulluck left the farm and founded a retail furniture store in the small Southern town of Rocky Mount, in North Carolina. The store included an undertaking and embalming parlor, as was often the custom for furniture stores in the south The business prospered and was eventually taken over during the depression by his son-in-law, Hatcher Kincheloe.
In 1962 Bulluck's grandson, Bill Kincheloe, came home from college and soon took over management of the store. There was a special department for lamps and lampshades which held a fascination for him and he developed the process of making customized lamps at the request of some of the customers.
By 1969 a small line of quality handcrafted lamps had been created, using "in house" produced and finished wood parts and some components bought from importers. A furniture rep commented one day that he could SELL these lamps to other stores. He was given the line, it was photographed, and WILDWOOD LAMPS was born.
In the 1980's, WILDWOOD LAMPS expanded to include a vast selection of decorative accessories, floor and wall screens and wall decor, mirrors and a number of eclectic pieces of occasional furniture.
The early 90's found Wildwood with a selection so large that it was deemed advisable to divide it into style categories. There were "Coastal", "Casual", "Southwest" and other sub categories identified and promoted. New catalogs reflected these changes and the business continued to grow. Chandeliers became an important part of the offering; featured were Italian masterpieces in iron, bronze, crystal, antique gold, and others with art finishes on iron and wood.
Then, with the dawn of the new century in sight...2000...the "Millennium"... Wildwood began to recognize that buyer habits and preferences were rapidly changing. The new casual approach to interior decor was firmly entrenched, and there was a generation that wanted to spend less on interiors. Hence MARKETPLACE was born. A lamp line unto itself, with a wide selection that included traditional, transitional, and even contemporary, Marketplace quickly filled a niche in the marketplace and another WILDWOOD LAMPS star was created.
In 2011, Wildwood welcomed Frederick Cooper www.frederickcooper.com and Chelsea House, Inc www.chelseahouseinc.com to the family. Both Frederick Cooper and Chelsea House, Inc brought over their most beloved classics and have continued to introduce wonderful new introductions at each High Point Market.
The spacious showroom in High Point now in its 4th expansion offers display of both chandelier collections as well as 1000 lamp styles and almost 3000 decorative accessories. The WILDWOOD LAMPS showroom is a must see destination for the discriminating as well as for the store or designer that deals with today's value conscious customer who seeks the "look", the "quality", the "price", and "availability".
ARTWARE - in pure brass, lead crystal, hand decorated porcelain, alabaster, iron, and other fine materials - is painstakingly HAND polished, sanded, painted, antiqued, assembled and wired to insure the high quality and beauty expected from a WILDWOOD Lamp. And Wildwood's designers travel the world, sometimes finding, sometimes creating but always with an eye for the exquisite, the unique, and the beautiful...for lamp making and for decorative accessories of great distinction.
Today, WILDWOOD LAMPS has further evolved and has endeavored to make a, the designer oriented resource that can be accessed in most fine furniture stores as well as design showrooms in all major cities. With our catalog and the unbelievable selection and inventory available for quick delivery, WILDWOOD continues to be recognized as The Standard of Excellence.
